Welcome
Dear Club Member:
Welcome to the membership of The Fellowship of Christian Sportsmen. We are pleased that you have decided to join our Club and we sincerely hope that we will meet your expectations. We pride ourselves in being more than just a hunting and fishing club.
While promoting hunting and fishing and encouraging conservation, our primary goal is Christian fellowship. We love hunting and fishing, but we strive to be fishers of men. I encourage you to become active in the Club.
The principals of a belief in Jesus Christ and a love for hunting and fishing were melded into our club of Christian men. Our foundation was to share the joy and experience of hunting and fishing with other Christian Sportsmen, encourage Christian fellowship among men, challenge men to establish and maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and encourage serving the Lord Jesus in the fellowship of the Church.
FCS was founded in February 1991 and has continued as one of the strongest clubs in Austin until this day. Actually the Burp & Poot (B&P) Club, which was founded in December 1988, was a precursor to FCS. Several of the founding members are still active in the Club.
The success of FCS is due to the Lord’s blessing and to the dedication of many volunteers from all over the state. Your energy and efforts directly affect the future of this ministry. We need your experience, commitment, energy, and ideas. There is no set amount of time that is required for individuals who feel God is calling them to volunteer with FCS. The following are a few ideas on how you can help:
- attend events;
- pray for our ministry;
- renew your membership on your membership anniversary (membership dues help us meet our expenses);
- participate in active membership discussions, surveys, polls, and votes (the only bad idea is an unvoiced one);
- donate additional monetary or hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, etc. related items; and
- volunteer/serve others – we need members to volunteer their:
- time (start a FCS chapter, serve as an officer, volunteer to lead events, volunteer to lead Bible studies or prayer times, volunteer to have an FCS promotion at your church, mentor a new hunter or youth, etc.); and
- possessions (share equipment with others, volunteer your home for meetings, etc.).
Please contact me, or any of the Club officers, if you have any questions.
This list is not all inclusive. If you have an idea on how you can help that is not on this page, please voice it.
Please contact me if you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions at randy@fcs-texas.org or 512-963-0003.
I welcome you in Christ’s name. I believe that we’re “What you’re hunting for.”
Following His trail,
Randy Rowley
