1992 Meetings Reports

12/18/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic.  Nine members were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The Vice President called the meeting to order (Information).
  2. A discussion was held on holding the FCS meetings at members’ homes again due to security changes at the MMTW Clinic and the drop in meeting attendance.  Future locations will be announced.
  3. A discussion was held on the annual Winter Dove Retreat.
  4. A discussion was held on the annual Sweethearts Appreciation Dinner.
  5. A discussion was held on another Hog Hunt.
  6. Sign-up lists were dispensed for the above events and the following additional events: a sporting clays shoot, the bi-annual family catfish fishing trip at Rainbow Lake, the annual canoe trip, and a chartered Kingfish fishing trip.
  7. Flyers were passed out on the schedule of FCS events for 1993.
  8. Flyers were passed out on the schedule of FCS meetings for 1993.
  9. The meeting was closed by the Vice President (Information).

12/15/92 Officer’s Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at Jim’s restaurant.  Five Officers were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A discussion was held on the annual Winter Dove Retreat.
  3. A discussion was held on the annual Sweethearts Appreciation Dinner.
  4. A discussion was held on a sporting clays shoot.
  5. A discussion was held on another Hog Hunt.
  6. A discussion was held on a family catfish fishing trip to Rainbow Lake.
  7. A discussion was held on the annual canoe trip.
  8. A discussion was held on a chartered Kingfish fishing trip.
  9. A discussion was held on a Club logo for T-shirts.
  10. The meeting was closed by the President.

10/22/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic.  Nine members were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A report was presented on the first Club Rifle Range Shoot.
  3. A report was presented on the annual Fall Dove Retreat.
  4. A discussion was held on the annual Winter Dove Retreat.
  5. A discussion was held on the annual Sweethearts Appreciation Dinner.
  6. A discussion was held on a service project for Dennis Koch.
  7. A discussion was held on a Club logo for T-shirts.
  8. The Treasurer’s report was presented by the Vice President (Information).
  9. The meeting was closed by the President.

8/20/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic.  Twelve members were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A report was presented on the first family fishing trip at Rainbow Lake.
  3. A discussion was held on a Club Rifle Range Shoot.
  4. A discussion was held on the Fall Dove Retreat.
  5. Applications were read for Alan Baker, Jesse Price, and Tim Price. The applications were accepted unanimously.
  6. The meeting was closed by the President.

6/25/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic.  Eleven members and one visitor (12 participants) were in attendance.  Dr. Harold E. O’Chester was the guest speaker.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A proposal was made to award Dr. O’Chester a gift for his support of the club and for speaking to us at this meeting. A vote was taken.  The proposal passed unanimously.  A discussion was held on what type of gift to give him.  A vote was taken.  A golf club was decided on by a majority vote.
  3. A report was presented on the FCS family campout at the Blanco River.
  4. A discussion was held on a family fishing trip at Rainbow Lake.
  5. A discussion was held on a Club Rifle Range Shoot scheduled for August.
  6. A discussion was held on planning a canoe trip.
  7. A discussion was held on a coastal fishing trip.
  8. A discussion was held to determine if members were interested in a Club dove lease.
  9. A discussion was held on a service project for Dennis Koch.
  10. A discussion was held on a club logo for T-shirts.
  11. A discussion was held on the dates for the remaining club meetings in 1992.
  12. A discussion was held on getting a speaker on archery hunting for the 8/20/92 meeting.
  13. An application was read for Jesus’ Valadez. The application was accepted unanimously.  Applications for Alan Baker, Jesse Price, and Tim Price will be read at the 8/20/92 meeting.
  14. The Treasurer’s report was presented by the Vice President (Information).
  15. The meeting was closed by the President.

4/30/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic.  Eleven members and one visitor (12 total participants) were in attendance.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A discussion was held on the First Ever Hog Hunt.
  3. A discussion was held on a Club Rifle Range Shoot.
  4. A discussion was held on a family camping trip at the Blanco lease.
  5. A discussion was held on a canoe trip.
  6. A discussion was held on a family fishing trip at Rainbow Lake.
  7. A discussion was held on Service Projects.
  8. A discussion was held on a club logo for T-shirts.
  9. A discussion was held on being a “Hunting Partner.”
  10. The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Larry Dowden.
  11. A discussion was held on a request for phone numbers and addresses for prospects.
  12. Applications were read for Jim Minton, Mark Parsons, and Mark Weaver. All applicants were accepted.  Applications were received from Tim Price, Jesse Price, and Alan Baker.
  13. The meeting was closed by the President.

4/23/92 Officers Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Kirby Lane Cafe.  Six officers were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A discussion was held on the First Ever Hog Hunt, including problems that were encountered during the event and ways to prevent similar problems from reoccurring.
  3. A discussion was held on the Club-sponsored Texas Hunter Education Course.
  4. A discussion was held on a family camping trip at the Blanco lease.
  5. A discussion was held on a family fishing trip at Rainbow Lake.
  6. A discussion was held on a chartered Kingfish fishing trip at Port Aransas.
  7. A discussion was held on a Club Rifle Range Shoot at either the Cheery Creek Rifle Range or the Austin Rifle Range. It was decided to submit the options to members for a vote.
  8. The meeting was closed by the President.

1/30/92 General Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic. Fifteen members and seven visitors (22 participants) were in attendance.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A Statement of Faith was presented by John Murray and submitted for a vote. The Statement of Faith was accepted by unanimous vote.
  3. A discussion was held on holding a Hunter Education Course (led by Jim Wade). A vote was held.  It was decided that the Course would be made available for members at the Minirith-Meier-Tunnell-Wilson Clinic by majority vote.  The fee for the Course is $5.00.  It will begin immediately after the next General Meeting on Friday, March 27, 1992, and conclude on Saturday, March 28, 1992.  The Course will last approximately three hours on Friday and nine hours on Saturday. Wives and children (who would benefit from the course) are welcome. No hunting fatalities have been reported on alumni of this course.
  4. A discussion was held on the Second Annual Wives Appreciation Dinner. A vote was held.  It was decided that the dinner will be held at a restaurant again by majority vote.  The dinner is scheduled for Friday, February 28, 1992, 7:00- 9:15 PM at Dan McKlusky’s restaurant in the Arboretum.
  5. A discussion was held on the proposed Hog Hunt.
  6. A discussion was held on a family outing at the Blanco lease. This event is in the planning stage.
  7. A discussion was held on a redfish fishing trip. This event is in the planning stage.
  8. A Discussion was held on a chartered kingfish fishing trip. This event is in the planning stage.
  9. A bowl was passed for a needy cause. $76.00 was collected for a new water heater for a family in need.
  10. A presentation was made by Larry Dowden on the financial state of the Club.
  11. Applications for Keith Syler and Randal Klimek were read.  A vote was held.  Both men were accepted as members by unanimous vote.
  12. Two logo ideas were presented to the Club. A request was made for more logo ideas.
  13. The meeting was closed by the President.

1/25/92 Officer’s Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at the Kirby Lane Cafe.  Four officers were present.  Business Meeting minutes:

  1. The President called the meeting to order.
  2. A discussion was held on the proposed Statement of Faith. It was decided to submit the statement to members for a vote.
  3. A discussion was held on the Wives Appreciation Dinner in February.
  4. A discussion was held on a Hunter Education Course.
  5. A discussion was held on an outing for wives and children.
  6. A discussion was held on a possible hog hunt.
  7. A discussion was held on a chartered Kingfish fishing trip.
  8. A discussion was held on potential service projects.
  9. The meeting was closed by the President.
