1996 Shoots Reports

By

10/12/96 Rifle Range Shoot

A record 12 people (seven members, one guest and four children) participated at the Annual Rifle Range Shoot on 10/12/96 at Austin Skeet & Rifle Range.  A good time was had by all.

9/14/96 Archery Dart Shoot

A record three men participated at the 9/14/96 Annual Dart Shoot at Archery Country.  David Chalmers and Randy Rowley tied for the top spot.  Jesse Price came in second.  The archers shot three dart machine tapes including a new one called “Monster Bucks”.

8/31/96 Sporting Clays Shoot

Twelve men (nine members and three guests) and two children (14 participants) attended the Semi Annual Sporting Clays Shoot on 8/31/96 at the Capitol City Trap and Skeet Range.  Tim Price again took top honors with a record 40 targets broke (out of 50).  Larry Dowden came in second with 33 targets broke (Larry credits a new shotgun for his score – which was double his normal score).  Randy Rowley came in third with 31 targets broke.  Many of the shooters also shot a round of Skeet.  Tim Price again took top honors.  Larry Dowden, Eddy Chance, and Derrich Pollock were hot on Tim’s heals.

6/1/96 Sporting Clays Shoot

Nine men and two sons (11 participants including five members, four guests and two offspring) participated at the Semi Annual Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club on 6/1/96.  This did not tie the previous record on 8/19/95 because we had only eight shooters.  Tim Price again smoked everyone.  The course was harder this time because they threw a lot of black mini targets (slightly larger than silver dollars).  One station saw only two of 50 targets broken.
