1st Qtr 2009 – Club Results

By

The January – March quarter of 2009 was the greatest one yet for that quarter.  We had our best attendance yet for this quarter with 140 participants.  We blew away what was our average for this quarter (65)!  Club event attendance was 129 and Buda Chapter attendance was 11.  We set attendance records for the following events: Non-Guided/Non-Chartered Blast and Cast – Duck Hunt and Bay Fishing Trip (13), Deer and Hog Hunt (12), and Deer Hunt (5).  We had 16 events, which was our second best for this quarter (we had 13 Club events and three Buda Chapter events).  For a break down of events see January – March 2009 Facts.  In addition we had three men join the Club, 14 men renew their memberships, and 14 first time guests during this quarter.

The FCS – Great Hills Baptist Church (GHBC) Bible Life (Sunday School) Class continues to roll along with 11 members.  The class is studying Heaven by Randy Alcorn.  As the years pass and we watch more and more of our family, friends and mentors pass away, it is only natural to ask questions about heaven.  However, our understanding of heaven is often limited to a few half-forgotten Sunday school lessons and the insubstantial images provided by popular movies and T.V.  Fortunately, in Heaven Randy Alcorn provides us with a thoroughly researched and biblically definitive description of heaven.  As Alcorn addresses our most serious questions about heaven, including the nature of judgment, and answers a few of our less serious questions as well, we will develop a deeper understanding of our eternal destination and will find the courage to strive for heaven while we’re living on earth.  Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to attend the department.

For the 19 of you who ordered a FCS Dri Duck cap, they are ready.  I’ll pick them up soon.

I hope to see you at an FCS event soon.

Following His trail,

Randy Rowley

FCS President

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
