2008 Nights at the Races (Car)

12/19/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer, two guests, and one boy (four participants) had a good time at the 12/19/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. Darryl Swann, his father (Billy), his son (Caleb), and Dave Snyder attended.
11/21/08 Father/Son Buda Chapter Night at the Races
Two officers, one member, seven guests (including five first-time guests), and five boys (15 participants) had a really good time at the 11/21/08 Father/Son Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. Darryl Swann and his father, Billy, (first-time guest), Hunter Phillips and his father and brother – Robert King and Heston King (first-time guest), Don Jordon and his son, David Balenger (first-time guest) and his son, Juan Garcia, and his son – Juan Jr. (first-time guest), Domingo (first-time guest) and his two sons, and Hector (first-time guest) attended. Hunter put the FCS Buda Chapter Banner out (donated by him) and had a small grill going. We had sausage and hot dogs and had a short devotional. Hunter rode with Darryl during one pass and videoed the whole thing. We will hopefully edit it and put it on a PowerPoint.
10/24/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer, five guests (including one first-time guest), and two sons (eight participants) had a great time at the 10/24/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion.
7/25/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer, 12 guests (including at least one first-time guest), and five children (18 participants) had a great time at the 7/25/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion.
6/27/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer, eight guests, and two grandsons (11 participants) had a great time at the 6/27/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. The cars there were Darryl Swann’s ’73 Trans Am, a Viper, a supercharged Mustang, a ’98 Camaro, and a 50’s Fiat Gasser with a Tunnel Ram Ford 460 Big Block. Everyone pretty much just did test and tune stuff. There was lots of fellowship. Darryl disintegrated the front universal joint on the first pass and didn’t even get off the line, but Darryl says that that’s part of racing.
5/23/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer and four guests (five participants) had a great time at the 5/23/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. Darryl Swann raced his car. It wasn’t very crowded, so we got a lot of runs in.
4/25/08 Buda Chapter Night at the Races
One officer and four guests (five participants) had a great time at the 4/25/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. We had a low turnout due to threatening rain. This also meant that the track was not very crowded either. Darryl Swann raced his car.

11 adults and five children (16 participants) had a great time at the 2/22/08 Night at the Races at the San Antonio Raceway near Seguin/Marion. Buda Chapter chaplain Darryl Swann raced his car.
