By10/29/10 – 10/30/10 Chartered Bay Fishing Trip
Two members and two guests (four total participants) had a great time at the 10/29/10 – 10/30/10 Chartered Bay Fishing Trip with Kenneth Gregory Guide Service out of Port O’Connor. The group caught 15 redfish (three were tagged), two black drum, a couple hard head catfish, and a sand trout (20 total fish). Thanks to Harry Biggs for leading this event.
7/10/10 – 7/11/10 Chartered Bay Fishing Trip
One officer, three members, and two guests (six total participants) had a great time at the 7/10/10 – 7/11/10 Chartered Bay Fishing Trip with Kenneth Gregory Guide Service out of Port O’Connor. The group caught 15 redfish (four were too big and had to be thrown back due to not having enough tags for oversized redfish), 15 hard heads, 10 skip jacks, eight gaff tops, six black drum, and one dog fish.
6/7/10 Chartered Hybrid Bass Fishing Trip
Two officers, two members, and two guests (six total participants) had a great time at the 6/7/10 Chartered Hybrid Bass Fishing Trip with guide Jay Garrett on Lake Belton. A limit of 30 hybrid bass plus two white bass, a largemouth bass, and a channel catfish were caught. I’m not positive, but I think that Chris Rowley led the way, boating at least five hybrids and the catfish. Jeff Cates caught the biggest bass – an 8 pounder! It was a pleasant, overcast, afternoon with a nice breeze. It took us about about three hours to limit out.
4/3/10 Non-Chartered White Bass Fishing Trip
Two officers, two members, and two guests (six total participants) had a great time at the 4/3/10 Non-Chartered White Bass Fishing Trip at Colorado Bend State Park. Harry Biggs and John Hart caught 16 fish between them. Daryl Shipper caught one white bass and I, Randy Rowley, caught a two-foot long alligator gar! When I set the hook, it jumped out of the water like a tarpon! We talked to several people and all indications were that we missed the white bass run by one week. It was a beautiful day that started out cooler than expected and ended in the mid 80’s.
