12/19/15 Sporting Clays Shoot
Sixteen participants had a great time at the 12/19/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was fantastic and we had a great turnout. A few of the shooters stuck around afterwards and shot the Employee Appreciation day FREE shoot and lunch offered by the club. What a great day! The scores were:

12/12/15 ‘Shoot! Don’t Shop’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Two participants shot the ‘Shoot! Don’t Shop’ Sporting Clays tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club on 12/12/15. In the Main Event, Steve Baker shot a 79/100 for 3rd place in A Class and Bruce Crockett shot a 63/100 for 5th in D Class. In the Super Sporting event, Steve shot a 42/50 for 1st place in A Class. In the 5-Stand event, Steve Baker shot a 31/50 for 3rd place in A Class.

11/21/15 Sporting Clays Shoot
Six participants had a great time at the 11/21/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. It was a little chilly and very windy making all the stations a bit more challenging and very fun. The scores were:

11/14/15 ‘Give ’em the Bird’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Two members had a great time at the ‘Give ’em the Bird’ Sporting Clays Tournament on 11/14/15 at Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was cool in the 50’s with an overcast day. The rain primarily held off until after the tournament.
For the 100 target Main event, Lamar Denny (first time FCS sporting clays shooter) shot a 93/100 for 4th place in Master Class and Bruce Crockett shot a 81/100 for 1st place in D Class. There were 86 total shooters in the Main event.
For the 50 target Super Sporting event, Lamar Denny shot a 43/50 for 5th place in Master Class and Bruce Crockett shot a 38/50 for 1st place in D Class. There were 67 total shooters in the Super Sporting event.
For the 50 target 5-Stand event, Lamar Denny shot a 39/50 in Master Class. There were 41 total shooters in the 5-Stand event

Twelve participants (including one first time guest) had a great time at the 9/26/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was warm, a few of the stations were changed up with station 5 being set the hardest, but there were several very good scores in the 40’s. The scores were:

9/19/15 ‘Bill Hughes Memorial’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Four members participated in the 9/19/15 ‘Bill Hughes Memorial’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. A total of 103 shooters participated in the Main Event. In A Class, Steve Baker shot a 87/100, for 2nd place. In C Class, Scott Timpany shot a 80/100 for 1st place and Paul Ellis shot a 55/100. In Class E, Bruce Crockett shot a 73/100 for 4th place.
In the Super Sporting Event, Steve Baker shot a 40/50 for 3rd place in A Class and Paul Ellis shot a 29/50 in C Class.
In the 5-Stand Event, Steve Baker shot a 39/50 for 2nd place in A Class.

8/15/15 Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot
Fourteen participants (including one first time guest) had a great time at the 8/15/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was a hot (it’s August after all) and the scores were very good with Scott Timpany continuing to tear them up. The scores were:

Twenty four participants had a great time at our Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was a little warm with a slight breeze and the scores were very good with Scott Timpany shooting a perfect score to match Randy Rowley’s perfect score last year. The scores were:

7/19/15 ‘Firecracker Special’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Two members participated in the 7/19/15 ‘Firecracker Special’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. A total of 120 shooters participated in the Main Event. In the Main Event, Steve Baker shot a 83/100, for 5th place in Class A and Jim McGee shot a 71/100 for 5th place in Class E. In the Super Sporting Event, Steve Baker shot a 35/50 for 1st place in A Class.

6/27/15 ‘Dickie Loy Memorial’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Three participants had a good time at the 6/27/15 ‘Dickie Loy Memorial’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. A total of 95 shooters participated in the Main Event. Rain had been forecasted for that day, but held off for most of the day. In the Main Event, Steve Baker shot a personal best of 95/100, which won Class A, and tied for 2nd place overall. Jere Fletcher shot a 67/100 in Class AA, and Bruce Crockett shot a 70/100 for 4th in Class E. In the Super Sporting Event, Jere Fletcher shot a 41/50 in Class AA, Steve Baker shot a 40/50 for a 4th place tie in A Class, and Bruce Crockett shot a 40/50 for a 2nd place tie in E Class.

6/20/15 Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot
Seventeen shooters had a great time at our Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was a little muggy and it was a little muddy, but the scores were pretty high. The scores were:
Steve Baker 46, Tim Price 46 (his high score), Bruce Crockett 44, Randy Rowley 44, Paul Ellis 41, Kyle Kirkwood 41, Kenny Hill 40, Ryan Rowley 39 (his high score), Justin Painter 37, Flint DeShazo 36, Ron Palmer 36, Kerry Kirkwood 35, Robin Painter 31, first time guest Jim Moorhead 28, Allen Gann 27, Trisha Palmer 25, and first time guest Courtney Kirkwood 2 (only shot one station). Susan Rismiller attended but did not shoot.

5/16/15 Annual FCS Open Sporting Clays Shoot
A dozen shooters had a great time at our Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was great and the competition for the top four spots was very close. For the first round we shot the corporate (hunter) course. For the second round we shot the pro course. Here is the breakdown:
Steve Baker – 46, 41 = 87 Scott Timpany – 43, 42 = 85 Tim Price – 44, 39 = 83 (44 was his high score), Kyle Kirkwood – 39, 43 = 82, Randy Rowley – 41, 37 = 78, Edward Terry – 38, 28 = 66, Bruce Crockett – 32, 32 = 64, Kerry Kirkwood – 33, 29 = 62, and Harold Terry – 30, 23 – 53. The following shooters only shot the corporate course: Paul Ellis – 39, Becky Terry – 36 (her high score), and Burl Fulenwider – 15. Susan Rismiller attended but did not shoot.
Afterwards, a several of the shooter had a relaxing lunch at La Palapa.

4/18/15 Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot
Seven participants had a great time at the Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was great, even though there was a threat of rain. We had a two way tie for highest score and three way for second. 4/3/15 – 4/4/15 24-hour Sporting Clays Shoot
Seven participants enjoyed shooting sporting clays at the 74 Resort Ranch near Campbellton on Friday 4/3/14 & Saturday 4/4/14. This premier 27,000 acre resort provided unlimited sporting clay targets, outstanding cuisine, and relaxing lodging. On Friday it was cloudy, 85 degrees, and no wind, which was ideal for shooting clays. On Saturday, a cold front had passed through the previous evening, which dropped the temperatures to the mid-50’s and it was windy. The targets on the 16 station course were very challenging, but the format allowed each shooter to work as long as desired to figure them out.
3/29/15 ‘McBride’s Open’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Four participants had a good time at the 3/29/15 ‘McBride’s Open’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. A total of 158 shooters participated in the Main Event, which is one of the largest shoots ever at Capitol Trap & Skeet. The target were more challenging than normal, and which were reflected in the scores. In the Main Event, Jere Fletcher shot a 59/100 in Class AA, Steve Baker shot a 64/100 for 3rd place in Class B. In Class E, Jim McGee shot a 56/100 and Bruce Crockett shot a 53/100. In the Super Sporting Event, Jere Fletcher shot a 30/50 in Class AA, Steve Baker shot a 38/50 for 3rd in B Class. In E Class, Jim McGee shot a 29/50 and Bruce Crockett shot a 26/50.
3/28/15 Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot
Twelve participants had a great time at the 3/28/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was almost perfect, but a little windy. We had a three way tie for highest score and several other very good scores. Here is the breakdown:

2/21/15 ‘Capital Trap & Skeet Founders Day’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Two participants had a good time at the 2/21/15 ‘Capital Trap & Skeet Founders Day’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. In the Main event Steve Baker came in first place in B Class with an 73/100 and Bruce Crockett tied for 5th in E Class with a 52/100.
In the Super Sporting Event, Steve Bake came in first with a 40/50 in B Class and Bruce Crockett shot a 30/50 for 2nd place in E Class.
In the 5-Stand Event, Steve Baker came in 1st place in B Class with a 37/50, and Bruce Crockett came in 1st in E Class with a 23/50.
1/31/15 ‘Target Setters Special’ Sporting Clays Tournament
Two participants had a good time at the 1/31/15 ‘Target Setters Special’ Sporting Clays Tournament at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. Steve Baker came in first place in B Class with an 83/100. Jere Fletcher shot a 67/100 for seventh place in AA class. Steve also came in first place in 5-stand with a 37/50.
1/17/15 Monthly Sporting Clays Shoot
Eighteen participants had a great time at the 1/17/15 Sporting Clays Shoot at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club. The weather was cool and clear with little wind. Scott Timpany came in first place with 43/50. First time guests Bill Kendrick was second with 41/50, with his son Eric shooting a 40/50 for 3rd place. He was followed by Kyle Kirkwood and Ron Palmer with 39/50, first time guest Brad Versteegh with a 39/50, Bruce Crockett and Edward Terry with a 36/50, Brett Mercer and Paul Ellis with 35/50, Tricia Palmer, Harold Terry, and Conner McDonald with 29/50, Ryan Hoffman and Kerry Kirkwood with 28/50, Ken Miller with 19/50, Becky Terry with 17/50, and first time guest Brad Woolf with 8/50.
