6/18/22 FCS Open Sporting Clays Shoot

Six participants enjoyed the annual FCS Open at Capital City Clays in Austin.  June has been an unusual year so far with temperatures 100 degrees or higher this month.  While our shoots begin at 9:00am, it quickly warmed up during the dual shoots.

We shot 50 targets on the Red Corporate course, and then shot 50 targets on the Blue course.  The Blue course has four trap machines on each station, trap machines 1 & 2 were slightly harder than the Red Corporate course, and trap machines 3 & 4 were tournament type targets.  At each Blue station, we shot 2 pairs on trap machines 1 & 2, and then 2 pairs on trap machines 3 & 4.

Afterwards, some of the shooters ate lunch at La Palapa.

The scores were as follows:

Red/Corporate Course:

Mike Walsh – 47/50

Paul Ellis – 46/50

Bruce Crockett – 44/50

Tim Price – 40/50

Gustavo Bultron – 38/50

Burl Fulenwider – 35/50

Blue Course:

Bruce Crockett – 41/50

Tim Price – 31/50

Burl Fulenwider – 27/50

4/29/22 – 4/30/22 24-Hour Sporting Clays Shoot

Three members (Jim Bradley, Bruce Crockett, and Ron Denison) and three guests (Alex Denison (first time to attend an FCS event as an adult), Josh Swiatek, and Marc Swiatek) had a great time at the FCS 24-hour shoot located at the 74 Resort Ranch near Campbellton.

The group arrived before noon, checked into their rooms, and headed to the dining room for a wonderful lunch.  Afterwards, they picked up a refreshment cooler, a gas golf cart, and headed out to shoot on the 3 mile sporting clays course.  There was a good selection of targets, but most were pretty challenging.  That evening, they were served an outstanding meal of 16 oz. Rib-Eye steaks and all the trimmings.  The meal was finished off with a choice of fabulous desserts.

The next morning they had a wonderful breakfast before heading back out on the sporting clays course.  The weather was perfect on Saturday with little to no wind.  At noon, they headed back to the dining room one last time for a wonderful lunch.

4/2/22 FCS Bi-monthly Sporting Clays Shoot

Seven participants had a good time at the Bi-monthly FCS Sporting Clays Shoot at Capital City Clays in Austin.  The temperature was mild with no wind, so it was a perfect day to shoot clays.  The scores were as follows:

Mike Walsh – 39/50

Gustavo Bultron – 36/50

Jaxson Moore – 31/50

2/12/22 FCS Bi-monthly Sporting Clays Shoot

Bruce Crockett – 41/50

Jonathan Fleming – 39/50

Bret Mercer – 29/50

John Koelling – 25/50

Josh White – 23/50 (first-time shooter)
