2024 Banquet Report

4/3/24 FCS Family Celebration Banquet

21 participants had a great time at La Margarita Restaurante.  The food and the venue were great, as usual!  Tom Hewitt made a presentation about Operation Orphans, where he’s served as First Vice President for 48 years and been a part of for 50 years.  Operation Orphans is a non-profit organization that provides children with unique and wonderful outdoor experiences by sponsoring hunting and fishing trips in the Texas Hill Country, since 1960.  In many cases, this is the first real such experience these children have been able to do.  For more information, see their About Us web page.

Operation Orphans provides:

  • An outdoor experience for children living in group homes across Texas.
  • Mentoring.
  • Rural Culture/Values.
  • Nutritious meals.
  • Warm clothes and shoes that the kids keep.
  • Lifelong memories.
  • Lots of smiles!
