3rd Qtr 2009 – Club Results

By

Although it appears that we had a big setback for the July – September quarter of 2009, in reality we did not. Our attendance was 124 people, which was our seventh best for this quarter, and was far behind last year’s record of 184 for this quarter.  However, for the first time, I did count the FCS members and guests attendance at the Drott Dove Lease near Buda or the Sullivan Dove Lease near Woodson, as the hunts at these leases are not truly FCS hunts (they are hunts comprised of dove lease members, who are also FCS members, and their guests).  Last year, for example, we had 25 FCS participants at Drott lease hunts and 11 FCS participants at Sullivan lease hunts (a total of 36 FCS participants).  If I had not counted the attendance from those hunts, our attendance would have been 148 during this quarter last year (instead of 184).

We started reporting the FCS member and guest attendance at the Drott lease hunts in 2006 and the Sullivan lease hunts in 2003.  So without that attendance our attendance for this quarter for those years would have been:

2008 – 148 (plus 25 participants at the Drott lease and 11 participants at the Sullivan lease)

2007 – 91 (plus 37 participants at the Drott lease and 10 participants at the Sullivan lease)

2006 – 93 (plus 51 participants at the Drott lease and 11 participants at the Sullivan lease)

2005 – 118 (plus 19 participants at the Sullivan lease)

2004 – 95 (plus 23 participants at the Sullivan lease)

2003 – 86 (plus 27 participants at the Sullivan lease)

Therefore, if we had not counted the FCS participants at the Drott and Sullivan leases, this would have been our fourth best attendance for this quarter.  Also the attendance from this quarter last year included 39 attendees from the Buda Chapter.  As the Buda Chapter is not presently functioning, if they had duplicated their efforts we would have had 163 attendees this quarter, which would have been 15 more than this quarter last year (and our best yet for this quarter).

We also blew away what was our average for this quarter (89).

We had 14 events, which was also our fourth best for this quarter.  However, if we had not counted the FCS participants hunts at the Drott and Sullivan lease hunts our numbers of events would have been:

2008 – 12 (plus 4 Drott lease hunts and 3 Sullivan lease hunts)

2007 – 9 (plus 3 Drott lease hunts and 4 Sullivan lease hunts)

2006 – 7 (plus 5 Drott lease hunts and 3 Sullivan lease hunts)

2005 – 10 (plus 3 Sullivan lease hunts)

2004 – 4 (plus 2 Sullivan lease hunts)

2003 – 5 (plus 2 Sullivan lease hunts)

Therefore, if we had not counted the FCS participants hunts at the Drott and Sullivan leases, we would have had a record number of events for this quarter.

Also during this quarter, we had one man join the Club, 11 men renew their memberships, and 11 first time guests.

We had one active members vote and one officers vote during the third quarter of 2009.
