2024 – FCS Meeting Reports

12/12/24 FCS Meeting and Wild Game Dinner
Eight participants had a good time at Burl Fulenwider’s home. The meeting featured venison stew, venison summer sausage, cheese, and crackers, creamed corn, potato salad, coleslaw, and a lemon-blueberry cake. Randy Rowley led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details) and presented his devotional Tempted in Every Way. Raul Pena won the door prize – a black Arbogast XL Jitterbug topwater lure. Bob Steckler gave everyone an Armor of God coin and Burl gave Randy a shoe brush shaped like a duck. Thanks to Wayne Weilnau for contributing the venison stew, Daryl Shipper for contributing the creamed corn, and Burl for contributing the summer sausage, cheese, crackers, and cake.
10/9/24 FCS Meeting and Chili Dinner
Ten participants had a good time at Bruce Crockett’s home. The meeting featured three pots of chili, summer sausage, crackers, cheese slices, chips, queso, and brownies with whipped cream and strawberries. Randy Rowley led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details) and presented his devotional In the Blink of an Eye. The group watched a few hunts from Xtreme Whitetails 3. Two door prizes were awarded (both donated by FCS). They included a Fishouflage camo neck gaiter and a Chasing Stripers vertical jig. Bill Huttel won the neck gaiter and Wayne Weilnau won the jig. Thanks to Bruce, Daryl Shipper, and Wayne for making pots of chili and to Wayne for bringing the summer sausage.
8/22/24 FCS Meeting and Steak Dinner
Thirteen participants had a good time at Flint DeShazo’s home. The meeting featured ribeye steaks, corn-on-the-cob, red potatoes, Texas garlic toast, cheese, sausage, and crackers appetizers (courtesy of the DeShazo’s), strawberry cheesecake (courtesy of the DeShazo’s), sweet and unsweet tea, and soft drinks. Randy Rowley led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details), gave an update on the Bartlett season dove lease, and presented his devotional Why We Fish. The group watched the DVD Whistling Wings 9 The Sky’s the Limit. Six door prizes were awarded. They included three large tackle bag trays (donated by Russ Gibbs), two animal prints (donated by Jim McGee), and a Googan Squad Revolver topwater propeller bait (donated by FCS).
6/26/24 FCS Meeting and Shrimp Boil
Ten participants had a good time at Wayne Weilnau’s home. The meeting featured a shrimp boil (jumbo shrimp, beef sausage, mini corn-on-the-cobs, and red potatoes), sourdough bread, deer sausage, cheese, and lemon crumb cake. Randy Rowley led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details), gave an update on the Bartlett season dove lease, and presented his devotional Running Aground. The group watched a TV show on tuna fishing. Russ Gibbs won the door prize – a Chasing Stripers ghost walking bait (topwater lure), donated by FCS. Donations from Daryl Shipper and David Brune were accepted for the Sam Craig Ministries boys camp program.
4/25/24 FCS Meeting and Fajita Dinner
Six participants had a good time at the 4/25/24 FCS Meeting at Monalisa Almanza’s home. The meeting featured steak and chicken fajitas, grilled onions and peppers, rice, refried beans, chips, salsa, bean dip, and brownies. Randy Rowley led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details), and presented his devotional Don’t Give Up.
2/21/24 FCS Meeting and Catfish Dinner
Eight participants had a good time at the 2/21/24 FCS Meeting at Randy and Chris Rowley’s home. The meeting featured catfish, onion rings, french fries, hush puppies, potato salad, coleslaw, chips, queso, salsa, and brownies. Randy led a discussion on upcoming events (see our Calendar for details), and presented his devotional What Could Have Been. They watched the DVD Hog Wild.
