10/4/08 – 10/5/08 Promotion at the TPWD EXPO
Thanks to the generosity of a donor, who wishes to remain anonymous), three officers and one member (four participants) had a great time at the FCS promotion at the 10/4/08 – 10/5/08 TPWD EXPO. Our booth featured four mounts that were killed on FCS events, our professional display, and a table with our FCS photo album, brochures, and our raffle sign-up sheet. We will be giving away two prizes, including:
- A Hog Hunt with FCS at the CzC Ranch
- A Sporting Clays Shoot with FCS at the Capitol City Trap & Skeet Club
We had 248 people sign up for our raffle so that means that we gave out at least 248 brochures. Probably about 90% of the people who stopped at our booth stopped because of the raffle. About 5% stopped to look at the mounts and/or pictures and about 5% stopped to learn about FCS.
Randy Rowley would like to thank Jeff Reece and Colely Thompson for manning the booth (especially Jeff, who spent six hours at the booth on Saturday).
Many seeds were planted.
6/15/08 Promotion at the Hays Performing Arts Center
Five officers, one member, and two new members (eight participants) had a great time at the FCS promotion at the Family Comedy Night at the Hays Performing Arts Center in Kyle on 6/15/08. The event featured free food, a dunking booth, a moon walk, race cars (including Darryl Swann’s car), a casting station (ran by David Smith from his boat), two air soft stations (the pistol one was run by Hunter Phillips and the rifle one was run by Kevin Schnautz), comedian Jamey Ragle – a redneck with a Christian message (who was hilarious), and a Hawaiian shirt contest (with prizes). FCS members gave out several flyers and had several people sign up to be on our distribution lists.
1/25/08 – 1/26/08 Promotion at the Great Hills Baptist Church Men’s Retreat
Two officers and six members (eight participants) had a great time at the 1/25/08 – 1/26/08 Promotion at the Great Hills Baptist Church Men’s Retreat at the Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center on Lake Travis. The theme was “Witnessing & Discipling Through Things Men Like To Do” Randy Rowley led a 45 minute discussion on witnessing and discipling through hunting and then shared his testimony and made a presentation about FCS.
