Randy Rowley proposed to create a new cap for the Club.  We have had the same cap design since 4/6/95.  Several members expressed interest in purchasing a new cap.  Randy also proposed to create a discussion board for the website.  This would involve purchasing a license for the necessary software $149.95 and a different Web hosting service that is $14.00 a month more expensive than our current one.  Several members expressed concern that not many members would use the service.  Eddy Chance also informed the group that to add our name to a search engine, such as Yahoo, would cost an additional $300.00 a year.  The matter was tabled.

A discussion was held on possibly adding another chapter (Dallas) to the Club.  Brian McMullen saw our add at texasbowhunter.com and expressed interest in starting a chapter.  The membership discussed how to handle votes in the eventuality of an out of town chapter.  The members of that chapter would, in all probability, not be able to make our Club meetings and vis-a-versa.  Our current voting system (a vote at a Club meeting is an action of the Club) would have to be modified to be fair.  One possibility is to  conduct votes at Club meetings and then follow with a e-mail/mail vote for the rest of the membership that was not able to make the meeting.  The matter was tabled for now.

A discussion was held on the practice of giving trophies to the first, second, and third place winners at Sporting Clay Shoots.  The following facts were presented: Since the implementation of trophies in 2002 the attendance at shoots went up 44% (over 2001), the attendance for 2002 was our highest ever (46 participants), trophies cost $92.00 a year, and a brief e-mail poll showed that the implementation of trophies did not influence any respondents decision to attend.  Ron Denison made a proposal, via e-mail, to discontinue the trophies.  The proposal received a “second.”  A vote was taken.  Seven members voted to discontinue the trophies.  One voted to continue the trophies.  The proposal passed.
