1996 Hunting Trips Reports
By
9/19/96 – 9/22/96 Fall Dove Retreat
A record 69 men and boys (nine officers, 17 members, 29 guests (including 12 first-time guests), and 14 boys) endured the heat at the 6th Annual Fall Dove Retreat on 9/19/96 – 9/22/96 at the Camel Mills Ranch near Pearsall. Thanks to Mark Weaver for his sermon, Mike Hardcastle and Lee Tunnell for teaching the Bible Studies and Dennis Koch, Warren Hoke, Tim Price, and me, Randy Rowley, for leading the How – to Clinics. Although the dove were scarce, because the farmer planted spinach, we had a great time of fellowship.
6/21/96 – 6/22/96 Rabbit Hunt
Eleven participants (six members, two guests and three sons) hunted at the Annual Rabbit Hunt at Paul Wilson’s lease near Junction on 6/21/96- 6/22/96. Eleven rabbits were taken. This outing also featured swimming in the Llano River. Thanks to Paul for running the event and for the use of his land.
1/4/96 – 1/7/96 Winter Dove Retreat
Forty men and offspring attended the 6th Annual Winter Dove Retreat on 1/4/96 – 1/7/96 at the Camel Mills ranch near Pearsall . Although the birds were few and far between the fellowship was great and we had the most choices for the Bible studies ever. Thanks to Lee Tunnell, John Murray, and Jim McGee for leading Bible studies, Mark Weaver for his sermon, and Eddy Chance, Derrich Pollock, and me, Randy Rowley, for running the event.
