Do you have any recommendations for a .22 long rifle that has the ability for large clips and a scope like military guns? I’d like a set for low cost, defense and hunting options. And where best to buy.
The Ruger 10/22 is the AR of .22’s. It can be customized easily with larger magazines, barrel shrouds, different stocks and forearms, picatinny rails, etc. In its base form, it’s inexpensive. However, as with AR’s, you can spend a lot of money upgrading them.
As to where, depends on new or used. New – they’re popular guns, so Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops will probably have them on sale for Black Friday. Online sources include Bud’s Gun Shop, Midway USA, Sportsman’s Warehouse, Palmetto State Armory, and Gun Broker (although it’s been many years since I’ve bought a new gun). Used sources include Texas Gun Trader, Gun Broker, Guns America, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, and McBride’s. Texas Gun Trader has become my favorite.
