Randy Rowley highly recommends the Black Oak LED Marine Clamp On Spotlight. It’s easy peasy – no wiring is required (if you have a 12-volt plug). Or you can hook it up directly to a dual-cycle battery. The light is very bright and doesn’t take up a lot of space. For its size, it’s heavy and well built, as you’d expect from a waterproof light. I have mine clamped to my boat’s grab bar, which gives a superior light beam than one mounted on the bow.
The light that I bought is their smallest size/cheapest. They make much larger lights that will burn your hair off!
In July 2024, my light stopped working. My troubleshooting revealed that it wasn’t my 12-volt plug, as a Q-beam worked fine in it. I contacted Black Oak and they had a new harness to me in a New York minute! Their customer service is outstanding!
