FCS Season Dove Lease Near Bartlett

Posted by: | Comments (0)

Larry Dowen, Bartlett Dove Lease Coordinator, contacted Brett Harbers in early June 2024.  The price is now $350 for the season.  We must have 20 hunters to have the lease exclusively for FCS members.

We will be at the same place as last year for at least the first week of season, after that, we can try his other spots that he has leased to other groups.  Larry thinks that the FCS spot is the best.  He plans to have lease members meet on a Saturday morning in August for those that would like to look at the lease to better plan their opening day.  More details will be published in August.

Access will continue to be by Mr. Harbers’ equipment shed, and he will leave the gate unlocked.  There is no access off Lindeman Road as that land has been sold.  He is again asking that each group hunt in their assigned lease area during the first week.  Afterward, you may hunt by the barn, house, big trees, and gully while being respectful of others.  Most of the land west of Harbers Rd. where the old house and barn are located has no sunflowers and is grass.

No pistols or rifles are allowed.  No hunting guests are allowed (non-hunting guests are fine).

The lease is for FCS supporting (active in their dues) members only.  See our Supporting (Current with Their Dues) Members web page to determine if you’re an FCS supporting member.  Here is how to join FCS.  Here is how to renew your FCS membership.

RSVP required to Larry at (his preference) or 512-626-5903.  The last day to sign up and get your check to Larry, made out to Brett Harbers, is 8/2/24.  Mail your check to:

Larry Dowden

8609 Cantera Ridge Road

Temple, TX 76502

You’ll also need to complete Mr. Harbers’ Release of Liability.  Checks made out to Larry and checks without releases will be returned.  Releases without checks will be tossed.

Here’s a birds-eye map (satellite view) of the lease (we can’t X out the non-huntable area in Google Maps, but you’ll see it in the below picture).  You’ll see the barn (to the right of the center), the fields, the tanks, the creek, and the wooded areas.  Here’s a picture of the lease, and four pictures from 7/12/24:

If you’re a Facebook Friend of Ken Miller, he has a lot of pictures of the lease on his Facebook page.

Contact Larry if you have any questions.

A little that a righteous man has Is better than the riches of many wicked. For the arms of the wicked shall be broken, But the LORD upholds the righteous.
