Concealed Handguns in Church
ByMay a citizen of Texas, without a CHL or an LTC, carry a concealed handgun at church?
If a person would have been eligible to get a LTC when they were required, he or she can carry now without a permit. They can also carry in any place where they were allowed to carry before constitutional carry was passed. The only exception for churches would be ones with 30.05, 30.06, and/or 30.07 signs posted in accordance with the requirements of the law (e.g. one-inch high letters). I still advise people to get a LTC anyway as trusting an officer to figure out whether you were eligible before might not be wise. They may take the position of ticketing you and confiscating your handgun and letting a judge figure out if you were carrying legally.
