Guadalupe River chapter of Trout Unlimited awarded the Golden Trout Award!
ByThe award was presented last week at the annual TU meeting in Madison, WI to Mark Dillow, GRTU Chapter President. The Golden Trout award signifies GRTU as the top Trout Unlimited chapter for this year, out of about 380 chapters nationwide. Each year chapters are nominated and one chapter is selected by the Trout Unlimited national leadership. The criteria is based on the chapter’s performance in several areas including conservation, education, community service, and support of Trout Unlimited’s goals of protection, restoration, reconnection and sustaining our cold water fisheries. The award recognizes the cumulative efforts of many leaders and volunteers over the past years to build this chapter into the largest chapter in the nation, with 5,000 members statewide.
Mark presently serves FCS as Assistant to the President and formerly served as Vice President.
