Guided Aoudad Hunt

By

Scott Timpany hunted Aoudad with a guide that he recommends near Marfa.  He stayed in the guide’s double wide and brought his own food.  He shot game other than Aoudad, including javelina, blue quail, and a coyote.  Scott says that it’s cheap by Aoudad hunt standards and great experience.  He might be interested in going again and wouldn’t mind some company.  The guide now has access to four more ranches.  Two are “virgin” hunting grounds with “monster” aoudad.  Hunts are around $1800 for three days.  The website is www.hunting-Texas.net.  The guide has great skills and works very hard.  Best time to go is September through March.  The terrain is pretty brutal and shots are often long, BUT, it is worth it.
