Meetup Group
As FCS’ meeting time is spent on cooking, eating, discussing upcoming events, and devotionals, little time is spent on fellowshipping. The officers agreed to try having social/fellowship gatherings via the Meetup App at restaurants, bowling alleys, hunting and fishing locales, etc., where at most, only an imminent event(s) would be formally mentioned. In addition, we will continue with our regular meetings schedule.
People use Meetup to meet new people, learn new things, find support, get out of their comfort zones, and pursue their passions together. Meetup Group events generally have little planning and can be as simple as, ‘Dinner at Banger’s Sausage House in Round Rock on Thursday at 7:00 PM’ or ‘White bass fishing trip at The Steps on Granger on Saturday at 7:00 AM.’ For events where attendance will be limited, such as by boat weight limits, we can cap the number and close the event once the maximum is reached.
The FCS Meetup group is an open group, which means that anyone can view our information. However, only hosts can post events. The host presently is Randy Rowley, but he’ll be more than happy to add more hosts – just let him know that the email address (his preference) or phone number below. FCS Meetup Group events won’t be on our web-based Calendar, nor will Randy mention them in his weekly E-Newsletters or report on them on our website.
For our first event, see https://www.meetup.com/
If you have any questions or would like to volunteer to be a host, contact Randy at randywrowley@gmail.com (his preference) or 512-922-2484.
