Welcome

New and prospective FCS Members:

We are pleased you have decided to visit us and sincerely hope we meet your expectations.  We take pride in being more than just a sportsmen’s club.

A belief in Jesus Christ and a love for hunting, fishing, and sports shooting were melded together to form our club in February 1991.  Our mission is to share the joy and experience of hunting, shooting, and fishing with other Christian Sportsmen, provide Christian fellowship opportunities for people who like to hunt, shoot, and fish, challenge men and women to establish and maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, encourage serving the Lord Jesus, and encourage fellowship in a local Church.  Through promoting hunting, fishing, and sports shooting, we strive to be fishers of men.

The success of FCS is due to the Lord’s blessing and the dedication of many volunteers from all over the state.  Your energy and efforts directly affect the future of this ministry.  We need your experience, commitment, and ideas.  No set amount of time is required for individuals who feel God is calling them to volunteer with FCS.  The following are a few ideas on how you can help:

  • attend events (the more that a person participates, the more likely it is that he or she will feel that he or she is a part of the organization; it’s also more likely that he or she will develop friendships; it’s a totally different thing to shoot sporting clays with a bunch of strangers than it is to shoot with a bunch of friends, for example);
  • pray for our ministry;
  • join and renew your membership on your membership anniversary (membership dues help us meet our expenses);
  • participate in active membership discussions, polls, and votes (the only bad idea is an unvoiced one);
  • donate additional monetary or hunting, fishing, shooting, camping, etc. related items; and
  • volunteer/serve others – we need members to volunteer their:
    • time (start an FCS chapter, serve as an officer, volunteer to lead events, volunteer to lead devotionals or prayer times, volunteer to have an FCS promotion at your church, mentor a new hunter or youth, etc.); and
    • possessions (share equipment with others, volunteer your home for meetings, etc.).

The above list is not all-inclusive.  If you have an idea of how to help that is not on this page, please voice it.

Please contact me if you want to volunteer or have any questions or ideas at randywrowley@gmail.com (my preference) or 512-922-2484.

I welcome you in Christ’s name.  I believe you’ll find we’re “What you’re hunting for.”

Hunting His way,

Bible Verse of the Day

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
