Randy Rowley highly recommends Hunt of a Lifetime: An Outdoorsman’s Journey to Prayer by Scott Lemasters.  Scott is quite the storyteller – very entertaining.  His chapters are filled with stories of his experiences in God’s creation – they will grab your attention.  He uses his experiences to point the reader to biblical truths and did a great job of incorporating scripture.  He also asked many thought-provoking questions and ended every chapter with a prayer that tied in with his main points.  I find many Christian books on hunting and fishing to have “one-minute” chapters that share a quick story and might share a verse and a prayer.  But his was a deeper dive, which I greatly appreciate.

Randy Rowley highly recommends the movie Fireproof.  The movie is about a couple on the verge of divorce.  The husband (a chief fireman) embarks on a “Love Dare” to save his marriage.  This movie was made by the same church in Georgia that made Facing the Giants.  Not only was the movie very refreshing but there was only had one preview – about what looks like to be another moving movie – The Soloist.  This is the first movie that I have seen in a very, very long time where the audience clapped after the movie (and we did so for a long time).

Bible Verse of the Day

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
